During Sunday, SMHI upgraded the warning for high water flows to orange in areas of Gnosjö municipality. There, the water levels rise in Nissan and Storån, among others. A yellow warning has been issued in several other parts of the county, including areas around Lagan in Värnamo and around Tidan and the dams around Mullsjö municipality.

The emergency services have received several alarms about water-damaged buildings in the past 24 hours.

– Right now we are on site in Hillerstorp helping a villa owner on Korgmakaregatan to pump water out of the basement. I have received four similar alarms here today, says the rescue service’s command operator to SVT.

In Gisshult outside Nässjö, the emergency services have built barriers by the lake because the water there is rising and several properties are at risk of being hit by the water.

– I don’t think we have seen the culmination of this. These rains that have been in the last 24 hours will seep into this and it will take a few days before we see the culmination of this, says Samuel Nyström rescue manager to P4 Jönköping on Monday morning.
