Rodman plucks Bird: "Today I would play in Europe"

Dennis Rodmanone of the best rebounders and defenders to ever set foot on a basketball court, continues to make waves two decades after his retirement from the NBA courts.

The winner of five NBA rings with Bulls and Pistons said in ‘Vlad TV’ that “if Larry Bird played in this era, I think he would be in Europe”.

Rodman tried to justify his disputed theory about one of the most important players in NBA history: “Larry Bird would be somewhere over there (Europe). His game fit for the Boston Celtics at that time in the 80s and things like that.” But in today’s world…heck no, there’s no way.”

“I think the kid from Denver (Nikola Jokic) is slow as hell… but he’s much better than Larry Bird,” said ‘El Gusano’ about the three-time NBA winner (1981, 1984 and 1986), two times MVP of the Finals (1984 and 1986), 3 times MVP of the NBA (1984, 1985 and 1986) and 12 times All Star.

Rodman’s attack on Bird came after he was told Gilbert Arenas had claimed that Larry Bird could beat LeBron James one-on-one.
