Rodolfo Sancho arrived in Thailand last Sunday, a month after his son was arrested after confessing that he murdered and dismembered Edwin Arrieta on the island of Koh Phangan. A few hours before he boarded a plane to return to Spain and after two visits to Daniel in the Koh Samui jail, the actor reveals part of the conversation he could have had with the young man. A few words collected by the ‘Código 10’ program.

In his two face to face with Daniel Sancho, Rodolfo has addressed various issues related to crime in order to learn more information that can help lawyers to better manage his defense ahead of the trial in which he could be sentenced to death or life imprisonment. In one of the conversations, the interpreter has advised him “that he be as calm as he can” since the next weeks, months, and even years, can be very difficult.

The actor from ‘The Ministry of Time’ is also going through a difficult period. And it is that overnight, Rodolfo Sancho saw how his quiet life and his low profile were broken into a thousand pieces after the macabre crime carried out by his son. A strong media pressure that he is not used to, neither he nor his family. However, the man from Madrid is invested in the case with the clear mission of being able to help Daniel. “I want to make it clear that my son loves Thailand, its people and its culture,” he expressed in his first hours in Koh Samui in favor of the young man.

Good reason to return to Spain

Unlike Silvia Bronchalo, who has been in Thailand for several weeks, Rodolfo Sancho will head to Spain throughout this weekend. A trip of just one week to Southeast Asia that has served to reunite with his son and obtain more details of the case.

Ramón Chipirrás, spokesman for the Sancho family, admits on ‘ABC’ that the actor is now returning to Madrid for a compelling reason. “He knows that his presence in the country hurts his son. Mainly due to media pressure. There is great annoyance with the journalists congregating in the Thai prison. And I only on behalf of the person who runs the center, also the higher levels”, he says.
