After two years of border closures, the air sector in Algeria has started to return to its pre-pandemic level. With in particular the reinforcement of the air programs of the national company towards several countries.

In the same vein, on a visit to Jordan, the Algerian Minister of Labor, Youcef Cherfa, met the Prime Minister, Bisher Al-Khasawneh, on December 27th. During this meeting, the Jordanian Prime Minister expressed his country’s desire to relaunch direct air links to Algeria.

Royal Jordanian: towards the resumption of direct flights to Algeria

Indeed, following this meeting between the two ministers, Bisher Al-Khasawneh said that the airline of his country, in particular the Royal Jordanian, is studying the possibilities of taking over the airline linking the Algeria and Jordan.

The Jordanian airline hopes to resume its activity in this niche at the rate of two flights per week. A pace that helps strengthen relations and exchanges between Algeria and Jordan. In this wake, this Prime Minister expressed his country’s desire to resuscitate medical tourism between the two countries.

Air Algérie will return to 100% of its pre-pandemic activities from March 2023

Last November, the Head of State, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered a review of the mode of management of the national airline company. And this, to follow a modern plan in accordance with international standards. In the same vein, the President of the Republic has instructed the return of the flights of the national air carrier to their pre-pandemic average, with in particular the intensification of flights to the link between Paris and Djanet.

For his part, the CEO of Air Algérie, indicated in a previous statement to APS that his company will regain 100% of its pre-pandemic capacity of Covid -19, from March 2023. And this, thanks to the strengthening of its air program on different lines.
