Russia attacks and destroys the Zaporizhia hotel where journalists and UN staff usually stay

Russian missiles hit last night the hotel reikartz from the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia with a balance of one dead and 16 injured, including four children.

The attack has been interpreted as a challenge to the international community that supports Ukraine in the face of the Russian invasion, as the Reikartz It is the hotel regularly used by journalists covering the conflict, as well as by employees of the UN and other international organizations.

According to the Ukrainian Police, the destruction of the hotel building was due to the impact of a Russian Iskander missile.

As can be seen in the photographs disseminated on social networks, the building was completely destroyed and burned, which shows the explosion violence.

Numerous journalists claimed on social networks that they had stayed at that same hotel during their coverage of the war.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, reported the attack and denounced that “the city suffers daily from Russian bombardments. On this occasion, a fire broke out in a civilian building after the occupants hit it with a missile.”

The coordinator of the UN mission in Ukraine, Denise Brown, said in a statement collected by Reuters feeling “shocked by the news that the hotel frequently used by United Nations personnel and NGO personnel who support people affected by the war, has been destroyed. by a Russian attack on Zaporizhia. I have stayed at that hotel every time I visited the city.

With this, there are already two russian attacks registered in Zaporizhia this week. The previous one occurred last Wednesday where three people died and nine were injured.
