Localities and infrastructures in the Belgorod region regularly suffer strikes attributed to the Ukrainian army by Moscow, without kyiv claiming to be the author.

Five villages in the Russian region of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, were deprived of electricity on Saturday after Ukrainian artillery fire, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

“The village of Novaya Tavoljanka was targeted by fire from Ukrainian forces today,” Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on Telegram.

“Transmission lines were damaged,” he said, adding that this village and four other nearby towns – Arkhangelskoye, Murom, Chamino and Ziborovka – remained without electricity.

“No one was hurt”

“According to initial information, no one was injured,” said Vyacheslav Gladkov. According to him, a shell fell in the courtyard of a recently built private house, causing “significant damage”. Ten other houses were also hit by the gunfire, he added.

Localities and infrastructures in the Belgorod region regularly suffer strikes attributed by Moscow to the Ukrainian army, without kyiv claiming to be the author. The regional capital, of the same name, was also directly affected several times.
