Ryzen 5 5600X3D benchmark: A surprisingly powerful processor for gaming

Last week we talked about the processor AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D, which will be exclusive to the United States and only for one trade. With that being said, the folks at Tom’s Hardware have had access to one of these processors. Ryzen 5 5600X3D.

This processor, based on the Zen 3 architecture and manufactured in a 7nm process, offers 6 cores and 12 threads at a frequency ranging between 3.3 GHz and 4.4 GHz. It has 96 MB of L3 cache, 3 MB of L2 cache and a TDP of 105W. Its sale price is 229 dollars, although as you already said It is exclusive to the United States and will not reach Argentina.

Among the positive aspects of the review, there is its performance in games, its attractive sale price is the key, the compatibility with socket AM4 and its energy efficiency. On the other hand, the bad its lower performance in professional applications and those that do not take advantage of the L3 cache, and the absence of overclocking capabilities.

Ryzen 5 5600X3D gaming performance

In gaming benchmarks, the Ryzen 5 5600X3D manages to outperform many of its direct competitors, such as the Intel Core i5-13400 with DDR4, and it presents a significant advantage over the Ryzen 5 5600X. It ranks slightly above the Ryzen 5 7600X and only slightly below the Intel Core i5-13600K, while the difference to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is minimal. However the Ryzen 7 7800X3D continues to be the leader on this list.

In the rest, the story is different, being below the performance of the Ryzen 5 5600 without X, a far cry from the Core i5 13400 with DDR4.

Regarding power consumption, the Ryzen 5 5600X3D registers an average of 78w, slightly higher than the 71w of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. However, in terms of performance per watt, it shows itself to be very efficient compared to its direct competitors, especially against Intel’s Core Gen13 processors.
