As has already been widely reported, the Samsung Galaxy S23 is coming onto the market in four different colors, which are also used in the two more expensive variants, the Galaxy S23 Plus and S23 Ultra. Specifically, these are the colors “Phantom Black” (black), “Botanic Green” (green), “Mystic Lilac” (pink/purple) and “Cotton Flower” (white).
Samsung Galaxy S23
The pictures we now have exclusively show at least the basic version of the Samsung Galaxy S23 in advance. As expected, the changes compared to the previous model series are very limited, so Samsung has only refined the design and basically simplified it further. The camera hump is completely eliminated, so the lenses only protrude individually from the back of the housing. What is striking here is that the optics protrude only minimally from the device.
Bright (pastel) colors & round frames: Galaxy S23
As usual, the Galaxy S23 has a metal frame combined with a glass cover. In all variants, the frame of the S23 series is also colored in the color of the rear of the housing. The material used for the S23 and S23 Plus is probably a high-quality aluminum variant.
The Galaxy S23 does without the camera hump of the predecessor
As you can easily see from the pictures, the Galaxy S23 has a completely flat front and back, with only the cameras protruding from the device at the back. The front camera is again placed centrally below the top edge of the screen, where it is housed in a small hole. Our pictures also show that Samsung, unlike Apple, uses a slight bulge in the housing frame for its current iPhones, probably so that the smartphones fit better in the hand.
The Cotton Flower color actually looks like cotton white
We do not yet have any reliable information on the technical data of the Galaxy S23. What is certain is that the device comes with a 6.11-inch OLED display, which again offers a stretched Full HD resolution. The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is also under the hood in Europe this year, but it is installed here in a slightly faster clocked version than in all competing products.
The launch of the Galaxy S23 and its more expensive sister models was announced by the manufacturer today for February 1, 2023.
