According to a user of the Korean social network Meeco, the Samsung Galaxy S24 would have a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC than the‘Apple A16 Bionic of the iPhone 14 Pro. This insider claims to have gotten his hands on testing a prototype of the chip.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 benchmark unveiled by a user
Until February 16, Samsung is offering great benefits for the purchase of a Galaxy S23. A smartphone equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with impressive performance. But it is rumored that its successor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, does even better.
There is even talk of a chip which supplants the famous Apple A16 Bionic which the iPhone 14 Pro has!
It was on Meeco, a Korean social network, that a user shared the GeekBench benchmark of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that the Samsung Galaxy S24 will have. On a heart,e SoC would get 1930 points against 6236 points on all cores.
As a reminder, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 of the Samsung Galaxy S23 displays 1509 points and 4672 points. Suffice to say that the leap is real!
Why such power? Qualcomm would have differently arranged the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with a 1+5+2 configuration against 1+4+3 for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. If the SoC relies on an 8-core configuration, it separates from an efficient core.
We also talk 3 nm engraving performed by TSMC or Samsung to improve power consumption in addition to performance.
Apple can count on the future A17 Bionic chip
Compared to the iPhone 14 Pro and its Apple A16 Bionic chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is superior. The SoC of the Cupertino company’s smartphone displays 1872 points and 5367 points at GeekBench. Be careful though, this comparison is to be nuanced. The Samsung Galaxy S24 is not of the same generation as the iPhone 14 Pro.
By release, Apple will have released the iPhone 15 which will logically have an A17 Bionic chip. It is possible that its power is higher than that of its competitor Samsung. See you in a year!
