San Francisco: machines delivered for training in future factory

In San Santa Cruz and the rest of Bolivia, the police pursuit in an effort to catch Sebastian Marset has the edges of a movie. Information services focus a lot of time on the development of research.

The security service of the neighboring country feels the pressure of public opinion, which criticizes the open manner of how the oriental drug dealer obtained several (false) Bolivian identity documents, and how, on the other hand, the fugitive managed to carry a “totally normal” life in the second (economically) most important capital of the Andean country. The episode has all the ingredients for a big scandal, where drug trafficking, politics, soccer and the image of the police authorities are mixed.

According to independent press reports from the government line, Marset was seen this Tuesday in a Santa Cruz neighborhood, where the police coincidentally found, hours after the report, a luxurious vehicle belonging to the fugitive Charrúa.

“An hour ago, Marset was reported as having abandoned a vehicle in a Santa Cruz neighborhood. Witnesses say the man had tattoos on his arm and neck that match Marset’s description. The abandoned vehicle is one of those reported missing that he had,” Pablo Ortiz, a journalist for the Unitel Bolivia channel, told 1080 AM.

The Bolivian Minister of Government (equivalent to the Minister of the Interior) Eduardo Del Castillo, reiterated for his part that there are around 2,300 policemen who are deployed throughout the country with the aim of arresting Sebastian Marset.

The search begins to have prospects of expanding due to two elements: in Bolivia there is a high presumption that Marset is one of the masterminds of the murder of Paraguayan prosecutor Marcelo Pecci. And that this makes it a search “pledge”, taking into account that there is a reward of US$ 5 million (offered by the US), for the arrest or information that leads to it, of the morally responsible for the death of the anti-mafia authority.

In this scenario, the Bolivian security service seems to have an imperative to find Marset, whom they consider a big shot in continental drug trafficking.
