The Polish national team will soon welcome a new head coach. As the news portal ‘Sport.pl’ reports, Fernando Santos will succeed Czeslaw Michniewicz, who left office in December. Corresponding pictures show the 68-year-old when he arrived at Warsaw Airport.

Santos also lost his job as coach of the Portugal national team in December. After the disappointing quarter-final against Morocco (0-1) and a dispute with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (37), his public image was badly damaged. Steven Gerrard was one of the prominent candidates for the job in Poland. Santos, who is to be officially presented at a press conference tomorrow, Tuesday, has now been awarded the contract.
