This year is probably one of the hardest in Florian Silbereisen’s life. Good thing he can rely on his best friend.
Munich – The year 2022 is certainly not one of Florian Silbereisen’s best. The Schlager star is always confident and calm on TV and on stage. But the facade has cracked in 2022. On the one hand, there were the devastating reviews for his acting skills as a “dream ship” captain and, on the other hand, the ratings disaster when he appeared on ARD television. Or the fake suspicion in “Everyone sings Christmas”.
But even the hard blow to “DSDS” as one of the ratings flops of the year is clearly overshadowed by a stroke of fate that will not let go of the 41-year-old presenter even at Christmas. It’s good that Florian Silbereisen can rely on his best friend. Because DJ Ötzi apparently stands by “Flori” even in this difficult time, so that the star can probably experience a few contemplative holidays at Christmas.

“We will celebrate Christmas together again this year,” revealed Gerry Friedle, aka DJ Ötzi, in a recent interview t-online.de. A Christmas tradition that actually isn’t one at all, since the two have always shared a day for a number of years before Meet on Christmas Eve to talk about the events of the year, whether highlights or lowlights. “Flori is like a brother,” the Austrian continued.
And this year the support of DJ Ötzi is also sorely needed. Because Silbereisen is still worried about a very special woman in his life. His mother Helga suffered a stroke in August. She is said to be on the mend now, but the hit star’s mother still has a long way to go. That’s where DJ Ötzi’s strong shoulder comes in handy, especially before the holidays and the ominous Christmas dinner, when Florian Silbereisen “nobody has to stand in the kitchen for long”.

Friedle alias DJ Ötzi and Florian Silbereisen do not have a common song in their repertoire and such a collaboration is probably not up for debate either. But she doesn’t have to, because their friendship has been going on for more than 20 years. Two years ago, Friedle spoke in an interview with the RTL program “VIPstagram” about the special relationship between Silbereisen and him. At the time, the 51-year-old explained that it wasn’t necessarily just the music that connected the two: “We’re so boys in spirit.”
On stage they always have to function and do their best. “When we’re private then we’re just like boys,” explained the Austrian. The two probably also have nicknames for each other: Florian Silbereisen calls DJ Ötzi his “Schatzi”, while DJ Ötzi occasionally addresses his “brother” as “Bärli”.
Whether it’s “Bärli” or not, in the end “Flori” will surely be happy that his “Schatzi” will have an open ear for him before Christmas. So Florian Silbereisen’s dream of having his own pub can certainly wait a little longer.
