The Vorarlberg music festival Schubertiade starts this year’s concert season on April 27th.

Five cycles have been programmed, three of them in Hohenems and two in Schwarzenberg in the Bregenzerwald. The first cycle lasts until May 1st, and the season will end in autumn, with Hohenems as the venue again (October 4th to 8th).

The Armida Quartet will kick off this year’s Schubertiade on Thursday evening in the Markus-Sittikus-Saal together with the clarinettist Sabine Meyer. In the chamber concert, a composition by Max Reger can be heard alongside a work by Schubert. The Mandelring Quartet, William Youn, the Hagen Quartet and Julia Hagen, Filippo Gurini, Fatman Said and Joseph Middleton, the Quatuor Modigliani and Adam Laloum as well as the Apollon Musagète Quartet with Alois Posch and Dejan Lazic have also been announced as other actors in the first concert cycle.

The other cycles in Hohenems take place from July 13th to 16th and at the end of the season. The Schubertiade will be in the Angelika Kauffmann Hall in Schwarzenberg from June 17th to 25th and from August 26th to September 3rd.
