Search for fatal hit-and-run suspect who fled the scene

Detectives with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are searching for the driver responsible for striking and stranding a woman.

According to investigations, the incident occurred Tuesday at around 10:12 p.m. as the victim was attempting to cross West Oakland Park Boulevard from the north side of the highway to the south side, in an area with no designated crossings, while an unidentified vehicle So far, traveling east, it was approaching the scene of the incident.

Authorities reported that the vehicle struck the woman in the center lane, throwing her in a southeasterly direction, where she eventually landed on the south side of the road.

Following the collision, the driver fled the scene and continued in the direction of Interstate 95.

At the call of emergency units, Broward County agents and Oakland Park firefighters went to the scene, unable to save the woman’s life.

The investigation into the incident revealed that the vehicle involved is a white Audi A4 or S4, manufactured between 2013 and 2015.

In their effort to capture the driver responsible, authorities have shared photos of the car wreckage collected at the crash scene, as well as an image of a similar-looking vehicle.
