Director But Selim explains that as for the Winter Soldierseries Secret Invasion was designed as a “human history above all. It’s a Nick Fury story. He’s a human. He has his own version of the superpower, but it’s not like a superhero superpower. We really tell a story with our feet on the ground, a story with heart and on a human scale, with universal reach. In addition, there is this element of political thriller in the plot, so we saw some classics like The Third Man with Orson Welles (1949) or Conversation Secrète by Coppola (1974). We were inspired by things like that, very anchored, very realistic.
