The Xbox Developer Direct was held on Wednesday night, and as promised, Turn 10 was on hand to show more Forza Motorsport. The racing game received a six-minute long presentation, which you can see in its entirety at the top of the article.

Forza Motorsport will be launched sometime this year.

Xbox Game Studios

The video shows the developer’s focus on realism. Destruction of the cars, peeling paint and accumulation of soot and muck are recreated in more detail than in any previous Forza game.

The level of detail also extends to the photorealistic courses, which Turn 10 calls “Environments”. Forza Motorsport comes with 20 of these environments at launch, each featuring dynamic weather and a day-night cycle.

Forza Motorsport will deliver 4K resolution, 60 frames per second and support ray tracing. What kind of variation can be expected on the various platforms – PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S – has not yet been confirmed.

As for the gameplay itself, the game entices with online multiplayer and a single-player career that focuses on building cars. Forza Motorsport boasts a whopping 500 cars at launch, with heaps of upgrade options for players to tinker with.

An official date has not yet been set for the game, but the plan is to release during 2023.
