Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued to DMV

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a DMV watch for the possible development of severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon.

The alert is in effect for Prince George’s, Alexandria, Fairfax counties and the DC metropolitan area until 10 p.m.

The agency also indicated that gusty winds and hail are possible. This is due to the wet conditions that have prevailed in the area over the past few days.

Meanwhile, Tuesday, July 4, looks sunny and warm with a slight risk of thunderstorms east of I-95 during the afternoon, according to the Weather Authority. Highs could reach 90 degrees.
