SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica – Colombian singer Shakira is on vacation in Costa Rica with her two children Sasha and Milan, and her brother Tonino Mebarak, local media reported Thursday.
The Teletica television channel published on its social networks images of Shakira leaving a hotel in San José before heading to take a flight to the country’s Pacific beaches, according to information from the media.
The Directorate of Migration also confirmed to the press the entry into the country of the singer, who in recent months has been in the public arena after her separation from Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué and due to the success of songs such as “BZRP Music Session #53 ” with Bizarrap, or “TQG” with Karol G.
Shakira arrived in Costa Rica on Wednesday and that day she took pictures with a girl in the restaurant of the hotel where she is staying.
Sussy Solano, the girl’s mother, told Teletica that the minor “approached and Shakira was received by very good people, put her on their laps and told the youngest son that he could take their photo.”
Shakira had visited Costa Rica on two previous occasions to perform in concert, the last one in 2011.
The beaches of Costa Rica are frequented by numerous international celebrities and some of them, like the supermodel Gisele Bundchen, have bought houses near the sea.
