The small niche streaming service Shudder continues to satisfy its horror-thirsty subscribers and now the company announces that they have managed to snag the rights to the newly recorded remake of Stephen King’s classic short story Children of the Corn. The film, directed by Kurt Wimmer, was recently completed and Shudder, together with RLJE, will now exclusively handle its distribution. You can read the film’s synopsis below.

“Based upon the short story by the horror author, and adapted by Wimmer, Children of the Corn follows a 12 year old girl in Nebraska who is possessed by a spirit in a dying cornfield. She recruits the other children in her small town to go on a bloody rampage and kill all the adults and anyone else who opposes her. A bright high schooler who won’t go along with the plan is the town’s only hope of survival.”

Children of the Corn will premiere in theaters on March 3rd and will be available to stream starting March 21st.
