Currently, four Silent Hill games are in development in Japan and the West. But will the license continue afterwards? Konami’s answer.

Unless future Silent Hill games are interstellar flop, the Japanese publisher has long-term plans for its horror franchise.

From Silent Hill to all meals

Despite ups and downs, even a total absence in recent years, the Silent Hill saga remains and will remain one of the most emblematic horrific licenses ever created. Gold bar for Konami who restarted the machine by soliciting studios around the world to offer their game and their vision of the series.

Result, we will have four titles in the medium term: Silent Hill 2 Remake which will not hesitate to twist the original while being very faithful, Silent Hill f which will be a huge upheaval in the franchise, the intriguing Silent Hill Townfall and finally the radically different experience from Silent Hill Ascension. A comeback and it is without counting on the new film and the enigmatic The Short Message whose nature we do not yet understand.

And after that? Konami still has discussions with studios for other unreleased games. Because yes, according to producer Motoi Okamoto, “Silent Hill’s future will only continue”.

We have announced a number of new titles in addition to this remake. I knew from the start of the project that a single remake wouldn’t be enough for players to consider it a revival of the series. Some projects unfortunately never started, but we have spoken with many creators and still have many discussions about what to do in the future.

I’m happy to see players responding to SH f, which is a Japanese-style horror game, with even stronger interest than I expected. SH’s future will only continue. I think what’s important about the show is that it’s unique and highly artistic and original, and I’d like to continue to focus on that.
