You are currently viewing Simone Ballack: Simone Ballack on the relationship with her sons

Simone Ballack has a close bond with her sons Louis and Jordi. In the interview, the proud mother reveals what difficulties she has in everyday life with her children.

Michael and Simone Ballack, both 47, have not been a couple for over ten years, but they are forever linked through their three sons. Two years ago, the ex-couple had to cope with an unimaginable loss: son Emilio died in a serious quad bike accident in Portugal at the age of just 18. His tragic death has left a painful gap; Simone often remembers her beloved child on social media.

The footballer’s ex-wife also has a close relationship with Joris, 18, and Louis Ballack, 22, as she now emphasizes. Nevertheless, there are small stumbling blocks in everyday life.

Simone Ballack: “You just walk past each other”

Because it’s not that easy to spend time with her sons, the 47-year-old reveals in an RTL interview at the Oktoberfest. “Even though you live together, you somehow just walk past each other,” she says, adding: “You have to create days where you actually meet each other.” This is a completely normal process, emphasizes Simone. Ultimately, as a mother, you don’t see your children “as often” as they get older.

It is especially little baby Jordi who is becoming rare. “The older one is fine again. When they’re over 20, it becomes more normal again, but at 18 you’re just out of it.” Nevertheless, the next family time is already planned: Simone wants to spend quality time with her boys next weekend.

Heartbreaking words to son Emilio

A few days ago, Simone Ballack turned to her late son, who would have turned 21 on September 19, 2023. “Happy Birthday in Heaven, Emilio.” She will never be able to forget her son; the pain of the loss is still deep.

“Miss you sooooo much. How can you endure days like this? I don’t know,” she also wrote. Because even if you see Simone beaming and laughing in public, life must ultimately go on, there is always sadness in her heart for her beloved child. “Everything goes on with or without us! Whether you laugh or cry, nothing feels right. I try to be grateful for the good things in my life but it doesn’t always work. (sic)
