PSV Eindhoven’s Xavi Simons leaves his future open. In an interview with the ‘Telegraaf’, the 20-year-old offensive man explained: “It is not known what may happen in three or four weeks. But what I can say is that I’m very grateful to be here and to be able to prove myself at PSV. I still have five years of contract here and will have a conversation with Marcel Brands, the coach and everyone this summer. It makes a big difference for the players whether they take part in the Champions League or not. It’s a priority for me. It is also very important for my development.”

Simons also emphasizes: “I have to finish the season well and then we’ll see. Now there are the matches where you have to prove what you can do. I’m fully concentrating on the last five league games and the cup final.” A return to the old place of work in Paris St. Germain in particular is hotly debated in the media. The Dutch youngster had played for the Ligue 1 leaders from 2019 to 2022 before joining PSV last summer. In the Eredivisie, Simons impresses with 22 points (14 goals, eight assists) in 29 appearances.
