The premier Meloni has returned to express itself on the single network question and the difficulties to be faced in order to arrive at a solution.

It is no news that among the objectives of the current government there is the creation of a single state-owned public network: in this regard, the current premier had not hidden his positions well before being elected to the current office. However as things stand now it does not seem that things can proceed with the desired speed: at the origin of some of the obstacles is the nature of one of the companies that should be incorporated into this new single network: TIM. Its being one private companyMoreover quoted at the stock exchangecomplicates things quite a bit.

When asked about it Meloni has anyway reiterated his will to go ahead with the project, and to want to acquire control of the infrastructure, without however going into detail on how he would like to go about it. Meloni expressed herself as follows:

The nature of TIM, which is a private and listed company, requires great prudence and also a certain confidentiality. However, I can confirm that this government has the twofold objective, on the one hand to take control of the network, for reasons that we have explained many times and which I imagine we all basically share (for a strategic issue), and on the other to work as hard as possible to maintain employment levels. These are the two big questions that interest us, we leave everything else to the free dynamics of the market. But caution is needed on how to get there“.

On the matter too Adolfo UrsoMinister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, expressed himself as follows during an interview with Corriere della Sera:

I hope that by 31 December we will be able to provide information on the TIM network. All while pursuing the national interest in respect of foreign investors. It is no coincidence that Vivendi has recently recognized the positive climate created by the Government“.

Considering that the date indicated by the Minister is only a few hours away, we believe unlikely that the node from the question may now be dissolved according to the indicated times. But it is also true that it would not be the first time that we would see a last-minute decision arrive to “turn the tables” and get everything back in motion: given the short time that separates us from the indicated “deadline”, we can do nothing but wait and see if there will be unexpected news.
