Six-year-old boy was used by family gang to steal jewelry in Miami Dade

A family of Romanian origin, which used a child under 10 years old to commit jewelry thefts from elderly people, she was arrested and taken to the TGK jail in the county of Miami Dadeaccording to reports from the local press..

The criminals, identified as Abrinquer Miclesco and Cristina Sirbuwere in the crosshairs of police authorities due to frequent complaints, including new accusations that appeared at the time the arrest was made, police officials reported.

The minor, currently in the custody of the Children and family departmentwas part of the strategies used by this family gang and its objective was to provoke pity among the victims, officials argue.

His modus operandi consisted of approaching his victims, almost always elderly people, and offering them a gold chain, which resulted in fraud. “When the victims told her that they were not interested, the woman also took the (original) chain off the victim,” explains the spokesperson for the Hialeah Police Department. Eddie Rodriguez.

But his way of acting was also variable. “Many times they changed the story, that I needed to buy gasoline, medicine, some people also needed a ticket to return to their country,” adds the officer.

Those affected offered their evidence to support the accusations about these profiteers, including video recordings of the criminal acts.

Although the police have not been able to capture all the members of this family gang, because one of them managed to escape, they have said that they are related to operations outside of Miami Dade, “also in Broward, they are even in the south of Florida for this season but they were also going up to New York,” they add.

“We even know that they were renting different cars,” the police warned.

The police who kept the arrested people in the Hialeah Police Department until their transfer to the TGK jail, have in their possession 50 luxury jewels that were part of the loot that the criminals had in their possession.

Scams against the elderly are frequent events in Miami. Last August two women were taken to jail after tricking an 82-year-old man into taking his assets, including a house.

Nerelis Leiva (45 years old) and Rita Benet (59) are charged with exploitation and theft of a person over 65 years of age, organized scheme to commit fraud, criminal use of personal testimony information of a person over 70 years of age, illegal use of a false document and notary fraud, among other charges.

Also, in terms of insurance, the elderly must take many precautions. Last September authorities arrested four alleged fraudsters on multiple felony charges after working together to defraud a 94-year-old Miami Gardens woman and Citizens Insurance Agency.
