San Luis Potosí, Mexico.- The Government of San Luis Potosí plans this Sunday to transfer the more than 100 migrants rescued in Matehuala, after various operations in the area due to allegations of kidnapping, to the facilities of the National Institute of Migration (INM) in Mexico City.

The State Security spokesperson explained to Grupo REFORMA that, until last night, the migrants were still in the capital San Luis Potosí, where they arrived yesterday from Matehuala in an operation in which the state Civil Guard and the National Guard participated.

“Until last night, they continued to provide statements in the capital San Luis Potosí, they were being attended by the State Commission for Attention to Victims, but they will be handed over to the National Institute of Migration,” said a source.

The entity’s Governor, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona (PVEM), was the one who revealed last night in an interview with local media that the rescued group was going to be handed over to the immigration authorities.

“As you could see, they are undocumented, they are already receiving medical attention, food, in a center that is in Matehuala and tomorrow they are already turning themselves in to Migration in Mexico City, that is where our work ends, continue working so that this does not happen,” he said in the Municipality of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, where he was mayor.

He affirmed that the National Guard (GN) is not being efficient in monitoring highways, such as this route 57 that leads from the center of the Country to the northern border; therefore, he defended his purchase of Mustang patrol cars for the highway division of the state police.

“That is why to all those who said that he was crazy because he wanted to put patrols on the roads, they already saw that they do take care of it, it is a demand that we have been making, in the last year, where the roads lack more care, where the GN He has to make more effort to take care of the roads, he is overwhelmed, because we must remember that they did a cleanup of the PF, they do not have elements, they do not have highway patrols, “he said.

“For a year I have been insisting that there should be a State Highway Police, San Luis Potosí is going to be the first state of the 32 entities to have a highway police on federal highways and the first to sign an agreement with the Federation to authorize us to help them patrol federal highways.”

Likewise, it also revealed that the San Luis Potosí Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the company “Grupo Eifel”, which denounced the plagiarism of its two drivers and at least 21 migrants after leaving San Felipe, Guanajuato, for allegedly engaging in the transfer of migrants in the region.

“The tourist company was the one who promoted these coyotajes, the ones they received. The investigations are already on them, they received payments of 60,000 pesos to take undocumented people, they themselves turned these people over to crime, so they could take them to the border charging another 60,000 pesos, the investigations of San Luis Potosí, as the Government of Guanajuato very surely has to do, is to go after these tourist operating companies,” he said.

“There are many (companies), there are several that disguise their facades by selling tourist trips, who goes from Guanajuato to Saltillo on a tourist trip, it’s nonsense, they would go to a beach, to a sports center, they don’t go to Saltillo, they themselves they handed over to crime, they had the contact to hand them over in Matehuala, Doctor Arroyo, which is the three points where they were handed over.”

Since last Wednesday, the authorities of San Luis Potosí, as of Guanajuato, were alerted about the abduction of 23 people in Matehuala, who allegedly left for a tourist trip from San Felipe, in Guanajuato territory.

The alert resulted in both state governments, with the help of the Federation, carrying out overflights and finding more than 100 migrants in various operations.

It was reported that 35 were found in a gap in the town of San Gabriel, where Luis Felipe Macías, one of the drivers of the “Grupo Eifel” company, was also found alive.

Also, hours later it was added that the other driver, Joel Juárez, was murdered.

This is how they found the migrants in SLP

Also, 45 migrants and a driver were found, who were coming from Mexico City to Nuevo León, who were kidnapped after their bus was intercepted by criminals on the stretch from Villa Hidalgo to Guatemala.

Also, in Matehuala, a hotel was searched and 11 migrants were found, in addition to which one person was arrested.

And four more citizens were assaulted in their vehicles and deprived of their freedom, but they were rescued.
