News JVTech Smartphone: your Galaxy S22 is broken? Samsung helps you fix it

The South Korean manufacturer Samsung has just published a press release to inform owners of a Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+ or S22 Ultra that they will very soon be able to repair their terminal themselves, as part of the partnership with iFixit. Good news for do-it-yourselfers.

Since last summer, Samsung is showing itself to be more and more involved in the durability of some of its connected devices, in particular its smartphones.. The manufacturer has established a partnership with the iFixit platform, to offer repair kits for its Galaxy S20 and S21 ranges, as well as the Galaxy Tab S7 + tablet. The French version of iFixit provides access to these kitswhich it is however necessary to bring from the United States at present.

Samsung offers kits for the Galaxy S22

One of the criticisms that were leveled at Samsung regarding this self-repair program was that its newer smartphones were not eligible for it. The manufacturer therefore began to respond to it this week, announcing the addition of the entire line of Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphones to this proposal. This therefore includes the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

But that’s not all : Samsung has also decided to offer kits for its Galaxy Book Pro 15 and Galaxy Book Pro 360 15 laptops. “The self-repair program has exceeded our expectations and we are hearing a resounding message: people want more role models. Enterprise customers in particular have told us they need PC solutions”says Mark Williams, vice president of customer service at Samsung Electronics America.

Different options for repairing Samsung products at home

As for Samsung Galaxy S22 terminals, kits dedicated to repairing the screen, the back cover and the charging port will soon be available on iFixit. Regarding the Galaxy Book, spare parts concerning the front of the case, the back of the case, the screen, the battery, the touchpad, the power key with fingerprint reader and the rubber foot are planned.

Prices are not yet knownbut depending on the part to be changed, it is generally necessary to count on prices which range from 66 dollars to more than 230 dollars. The different kits include “genuine” parts, certified by Samsung, as well as a set of tools to carry out the repair.

However, it does not necessarily mean that repairing a Samsung device is easy. iFixit offers video tutorials, but if you have any doubts about your ability to perform these manipulations, you can go through an authorized repairer. It is possible to find the one closest to you directly from
the brand’s website.
