The exercise of journalism in Mexico It has been affected by various factors such as violence, particularly during the last two decades. In the past year alone, the Article 19 organization registered 696 attacks against the Mexican press, as well as 12 murders of journalists.
These facts placed 2022 as the deadliest year for journalism since 2007. In this context, the Solidarity Fabricsthe first national network of relatives of journalists murdered and disappeared in the country.
“We are families of journalists who have been stigmatized, criminalized and made invisible by the Mexican authorities, we face the omission, indolence and impunity of the Mexican justice system”, the network points out.

Currently Tejidos Solidarios integrates relatives of journalists who have been murdered or disappeared from the states of Chihuahua, Michoacán, Sinaloa and Oaxaca, however they aspire to accompany more families so that they do not feel alone.
