The “fashion metalworker”, who died last Friday at the age of 88, was cremated on Monday in the village of Portsall, in Brittany, where he lived.

The Spanish fashion designer Paco Rabanne, who died on Friday in Brittany, where he lived, was cremated there on Monday, AFP learned from the Catalan group Puig, which owns the brand bearing his name.

“He was cremated yesterday (Monday) in Brittany,” an official told AFP without further details.

Famous for his futuristic metal outfits, as well as his eccentric statements, the designer died at the age of 88 in the village of Portsall. His family had taken refuge in France because of the Spanish Civil War.

Tribute parade on March 1

The Paco Rabanne house will parade on March 1 as part of Paris Fashion Week, an opportunity to pay tribute to the couturier, buried in the strictest privacy.

A few days after the disappearance of the “fashion metalworker”, the American rapper Cardi B was dressed in Paco Rabanne for the Grammy Awards on Sunday: a metallic dress associated with a head jewel, designed by the current artistic director of the house, Julien Dossena, a reinterpretation of the emblematic creations of Paco Rabanne.
