The second – and for the time being last – part of the series will be just as nerve-wracking based on the novels by Sven Koch. In “Deadly Trap”, Femke Folkmer is also a detective and, like Tjark Wolf, works for the LKA Lower Saxony in Wilhelmshaven. She has little time to get used to her new job.

During the large-scale operation against the “Harbour Brothers”, a group of unemployed dock workers who have retrained in drug dealing, their colleague Ceylan (Yasemin Cetinkaya) is lured into a trap and critically injured. But nothing can be proven against the gang members, they have a watertight alibi. In their search for a way to bring down the cocky dealers and find the perpetrator who stabbed Ceylan, the duo uncovers a completely different party that Tjark and Femke didn’t even have their sights on.

In addition to the case, another story line runs through the film: the story about Tjark’s parents, which was already laid out in “Grab in the Dunes”. After his father’s death and the resulting freak out in Werlesiel, the investigator should contact Dr. Schröder (Alessija Lause) receive therapy. The psychologist digs into the past and picks up on her mother’s death. That, too, had already been hinted at in flashbacks to childhood. Was it suicide or murder? The question comes up again towards the end of the film and could become the basis for further films.

“Dune Death – A North Sea Crime”: “Deadly Trap” runs on Tuesday, February 7th at 8:15 p.m. on RTL and can also be shown be streamed on RTL+.
