Specialist recounts what could have happened with the submersible "Titan"

The Boston Coast Guard confirmed Thursday afternoon the deaths of the five crew members of the Ocean Gate company’s Titan submersible nearly a mile from the world’s most famous shipwreck, the Titanic.

The big question right now is how did the events occur and how were the last minutes of the scientists and tourists who were inside?

Shocking details of this tragedy that has shocked the world continue to emerge, and an expert explains how the dramatic end of the five occupants of the submersible in North Atlantic waters could have been.

According to the first hypotheses, the strong pressure from the depths and a failure in the Titan’s structure could be the cause of this tragedy.

Authorities confirmed that due to the depth where the capsule was located, it would have imploded, causing the death of those on board.

For a rescue expert, this is what could have happened according to the information released by the authorities.

“The pilot could know the information that this system gave him and if it gave him any failure, he would alert him of some problem, he would simply stop the dive and go up and nothing would happen… but obviously what surprised them was a collapse and a catastrophic outcome,” he said. Andrés Tremante, FIU professor and rescue expert.

Right now millions of people wonder what the last minutes of the 5 crew members and tourists aboard the 22-foot-long submersible could have been like.

“They didn’t even know that the capsule had imploded and that unfortunately they were going down and while they were going down the pressure obviously increases, the whole structure simply collapsed and with them inside, unfortunately, that’s what happened,” Tremante added.

The 5 victims are an aeronautical businessman, a French scientist, another Pakistani businessman and his 19-year-old son and the director of the company Ocean Gate Expeditions itself. For the entire community of rescuers in the world, they express that this has been a hard blow.

“Very sad because in the search and rescue world you never lose hope you are always there doing your best to get the survivors and rescue them alive.”

A local vehicle made by the company Pelagic Research Services in Cape Cod was in charge of finding the remains of the submersible, now the challenge is to locate the remains of the 5 victims.
