On Thursday afternoon there was a spectacular traffic accident on the L198 in the local area of ​​Lech.

A car driver overtook a car in front of him in Lech on Thursday despite oncoming traffic and subsequently went over the side of the road. In doing so, he struck two oncoming cars on the passenger side, rammed a rock on the side of the road, a bus stop sign and a garbage can.

In the bus stop itself, the driver of the car crashed into a pedestrian, who was injured to an unspecified degree by the collision. After the collision with the pedestrian, however, the vehicle did not come to a standstill, but crossed the roadway, got onto the opposite sidewalk and finally came to a standstill in a pile of snow.

The driver reported a technical defect

After the first aid, the pedestrian had to be flown to the LKH Feldkirch by emergency helicopter. Since the driver of the accident stated a technical defect in his accident vehicle as the cause of the accident, his car was seized by the public prosecutor’s office and an expert report was requested. The investigation into the exact course of the accident is still ongoing.
