Inspectors Oberländer and Zeiler have been investigating successfully in “Die Toten vom Bodensee” since 2014. Even if the 2023 series continues, a drastic change is imminent.

Since 2014, the shooting of the successful TV series “Die Toten vom Bodensee” has also taken place in Vorarlberg every year.

Many Vorarlbergers have grown fond of the cases involving the two commissioners Micha Oberländer (Matthias Koeberlin) and Hannah Zeiler (Nora Waldstätten) not only because of the regional connection. The interplay between the rather casual Oberländer and the very accurate Zeiler was also a significant part of the series.

The break is followed by the exit

What some suspected after the filming last year is now a certainty. At the time, it caused some astonishment that instead of Nora Waldstätten, Alina Fritsch completed the investigative duo alongside Matthias Koeberlin.

Not much was said about the reasons from the production side, but a return of Commissioner Zeiler did not seem to be out of the question.

Instagram posting provides clarity

Now all speculation has come to an end. Nora Waldstätten will not return to the dead from Lake Constance. The successful actress announced this in an Instagram post on Monday.

Even if there is still no official statement from the production company, her successor seems to have already been decided. Alina Fritsch, who has already taken on the female investigator role in episodes 16 and 17, is now to become a fixed part of the cast as department inspector Luisa Hoffmann.

It remains to be seen how the “new” will be received by the public, as the last two episodes produced have not yet been shown on TV.
