Square Enix is known for a whole bunch of titles like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest or Kingdom Hearts. But we often forget that the Japanese publisher deals with other games, some of which are to say the least… surprising, but which are a huge hit!
Yes, because there are not only Japanese games in the life of Square Enix, even if it wishes to concentrate on them as much as possible. This notably prompted it to separate from part of its western branch by reselling several licenses such as Tomb Raider or even Deus Ex and all the studios that are of course attached to it. But there are still several brands at Square Enix, IPs far from its favorite areas, such as a certain Powerwash Simulator. Yes yes.
A scathing success for one of Square Enix’s most unlikely games
Yes, among Square Enix’s huge catalog is the most satisfying game of recent years, PowerWash Simulator. An indie game developed by the FuturLab’s studio which signs here one of its biggest successes. PowerWash Simulator, it is now more than 7 million players. A real record. Since the last update last September, this figure has more than doubled. Something that the studio welcomes, and rightly so, thanking the whole community in passing. The developers have also taken the opportunity to announce the arrival of a multitude of content in the course of the year 2023.
The most satisfying game in the world
PowerWash Simulator, it’s several dozen different maps for as many contracts where it takes nothing more or less than to wash the decor of all its filth. We then use high-pressure jets, nozzles and different products to clean every inch of dirt, alone or in cooperation. An ultra-simple game to learn, which doesn’t look much visually, but which turns out to be extremely relaxing, addictive and satisfying. We don’t know why, but we go back regularly. Cherry on the cake, PowerWash Simulator even offered several premium crossovers with in particular Tomb Raider or Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Each time, players are invited to clean up iconic locations from each franchise. Not to mention the ton of easter eggs on the program.
