The most followed French videographer on YouTube has formalized that a new edition of the GP Explorer will take place. The race will take place on September 9, 2023 on the Bugatti Le Mans circuit.
It was a date expected since the first event was held. The GP Explorer, the Formula 4 (F4) race between web personalities, will be entitled to a new promotion. Squeezie formalized the competition during a live on Twitch this Wednesday. The race will take place on September 9, 2022 at the Bugatti Le Mans circuit.
The event will not feature eleven teams, like last year, but twelve. Also, the youtubeur announced that among the 24 pilots (see the list at the bottom of the article), half will have already participated in the first GP Explorer. A duo will remain mysterious for a few more days while additional information must be revealed on May 24.
For the most attentive, the announcement was slightly revealed a few minutes before the official announcement. Instagram account “gp_explorer” posted a story shortly after 7 p.m. indicating a single “Re”. This clue left little doubt about the big announcement promised by the videographer on Twitter earlier today.
From driving school to F4
On Twitter, Vincent Manilève, who particularly follows the content creation community, suggested that some duos could be formed by personalities who have recently obtained their license. This is particularly the case of Maghla, who will be associated with Seb La Frite – who had already participated in the first race. One of the iconic duos of Twitch in France will also be in this situation: Baghera Jones (who recently won his license) and Horty Underscore (still waiting for sesame).
During the first edition, 22 personalities competed on the Le Mans circuit. The competition had eleven teams of two drivers, each bearing the image of a sponsor. All of the content creators, both on YouTube and on Twitch, had followed specific training, in particular with the French Motorsport Federation (FFSA), in order to run in complete safety.
The first GP Explorer, which took place on October 8, 2022, allowed Squeezie to become the French streamer with the largest simultaneous audience on Twitch. More than a million spectators had followed the Formula 4 race of the stars of the web.
During this first race, it’s Sylvain Levy – who form the Vilebrequin duo with his sidekick Pierre Chabrier – who had won the race. He had preceded the videographers Delpielo and Etienne Mustache.
