What do the Marvel stars have Mads Mikkelsen (Doctor Strange) Oscar Isaac (Moon Knight) Natalie Portman (Thor) Rosario Dawson (Iron Fist) and Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther) all together? Film fans will certainly be able to answer this question with ease. Each of these actors has already worked in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a Star Wars project. In the new movie of the star saga, a superhero is also supposed to get involved. More specifically, even a super villain. And it comes from Marvel competitor DC.

New Star Wars movie: Can we expect “Episode 10”?

The Star Wars brand has been idle in cinemas since 2019. Disney producers failed in trying to establish one of the most successful media franchises of all time, like Marvel, as a permanent guest in the cinema charts. With Solo-A Star Wars Story even put down the star saga’s first real commercial flop on the big screen.

After the corona pandemic and the associated restrictions on the production and exploitation of cinema films, Disney apparently wants to make a new attempt. Apparently there are several projects in the works. One of these is set to take place after Episode 9, penned by Damon Lindelof (Star Trek, Watchmen) and from Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (Ms. Marvel) to be staged.

DC’s super villain is set to star in the new Star Wars movie

One could well assume that Disney deliberately relies on the popularity of individual actresses and actors who have achieved fame thanks to the MCU in order to help projects from other franchises gain more attention.

In the case of the new Star Wars movie, however, they seem to be taking a different approach. If current rumors are to be believed, none other than Yahya Abdul Mateen II play the main role in “Episode 10”. The 38-year-old American advanced in 2018 with his role as Black Manta in Aquaman to the crowd favorite.

The new movie is said to be based on the events of Star Wars: Episode 9 – The Rise of Skywalker play, but only marginally deal with the further fate of Rey and Finn. The project, which has not yet been named, is obviously still in an early phase of development. Incidentally, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is also said to be playing the title role in the Marvel series Wonder Man be committed to Disney Plus. The actor would then join the ranks of the Hollywood stars mentioned above, who both for star Warsas well as for Marvel were active.
