Mexico City.- The Marvel Cinematic Universe (UCM) announces the takeoff of its phase five with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The film, starring Paul Rudd, will arrive this Wednesday in movie theaters in Mexico surrounded by great expectations from its cast and fans of the franchise.

“We’re very excited to be one of the first, to be able to make another movie on a more epic scale, because honestly, it’s bigger than the first two. I think there’s more excitement than pressure.

“I really hope that the fans like it and that they immerse themselves in this world. More than expectations, I hope that they really enjoy it,” Rudd said, in an interview.

Scott Lang (Rudd) and his team, which includes the return of Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), will face their most dangerous enemy yet: Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), considered one of the most feared villains in the MCU. .

“Kang is probably more powerful than Thanos. Having Jonathan play him has been fantastic and has brought a whole new energy to the movie. I can’t imagine anyone else in that character. I think it’s a moment that everyone has been waiting for.” .

The third installment of this saga is also directed by Peyton Reed, in charge of bringing the superhero to the big screen since 2015.

Ant-Man first appeared in the comics by David Michelinie and John Byrne, its creators, in March 1979, and has the ability to shrink and enter subatomic universes.

“I really feel like I already know what he wants. He’s been amazing to work with, he knows the characters perfectly. I feel like now that he’s suggesting something or seeing a change, I realize we see things the same way, but I think that this happens because I really like being with him, because he is a very funny guy.

“He likes the atmosphere to be relaxed, it takes a long time to shoot these movies, so it’s amazing to have the opportunity to enjoy the company of the people you work with,” said the 53-year-old actor.

Rudd, who has spent eight years giving life to Lang, stated that now more than ever he feels identified with his character, because this time he will have to explore his fatherhood and the different ways of dealing with it.

“There are a lot of parallels between Scott and my own life, we’re both dads. I have a daughter who, in my real life, isn’t as big as my fictional daughter, but trying to be a good dad is definitely something. that we have in common.

“He tries to balance his fatherhood with being a superhero. Me, sometimes I have to take time off because I have to go out to pursue my acting career, but I also want to be with my daughter, so I relate a lot to how we try to have a balance,” he said.

After paying the consequences of having intervened in the civil war that divided the Avengers, and where he also helped rescue Janet van Dyne from the Quantum Realm, Lang will find himself involved in new challenges that will take him to new and unknown worlds.

“I think now is the best part, where I’ve really enjoyed what I’m doing. I love being Ant-Man. One of the things that we did very differently for this movie was that we shot in a special room, where it was impossible to see how we were doing it, which was overwhelming for everyone, so it all had to come from our imaginations.”
