Game News State of Play: the complete PS5, PS4 and PS VR 2 event recap
As expected after the presentations of Microsoft (Xbox Developer Direct) and Nintendo with its Nintendo Direct, Sony and PlayStation were the last expected to talk about games and upcoming productions on their consoles. Virtual reality honored
What could be more natural than to start with the hottest topic? Sony’s new virtual reality headset is out today and comes with some new releases. The State of Play opened with The Foglandsa roguelike in a sci-fi universe and a western atmosphere, planned for 2023 as the PS VR2 version of the survival game Green Hell.
Three other games also stood out during this segment dedicated to virtual reality. It’s the shooter Synapse, scheduled for 2023, which showed itself with its artistic direction in black and white. It mixes ambidexterity and telekinesis. Then introduced himself Journey to Foundationa science fiction game”rich in story” which brings to life the work of author Isaac Asimov. This special VR axis then concluded with Before Your Eyes: a game initially released on PC in April 2021: a narrative adventure that tells “a soul’s journey into the afterlife“through the player’s blinks.

Resident Evil 4, Baldur’s Gate 3… The big announcements
In the wake of this VR presentation, several announcements were worth seeing. A trailer for Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion was released before making way for the highly anticipated Tchia: an independent game with a very cartoony artistic direction that at times recalls certain sides of the Zelda license. Its release date has been announced for March 21, when it will also join the Extra and Premium tiers of the PlayStation Plus subscription service.. What to serve the transition since in the process, it is the monthly additions concerning the catalog with Battlefield, Code Vein and Minecraft which will arrive in March.
It is Humanity, probably the most enigmatic game of the evening, which is presented: a title where the player embodies a spiritual guide in the form of a dog. It accompanies human beings with a simple bark to help them find the light. Compatible PS VR2, the title is expected for the month of May. It is then Goodbye Volcano High, the narrative game with humanoid dinosaurs, which has been dated through a gameplay sequence: see you next June 15.

After making his return to the Netflix platformNaruto returns in a new opus of versus fighting with Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections expected for 2023. Fans of western role-playing games must also have been very happy to learn that Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally going out of early access and will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on August 31st.. Announced at the Game Awards, the role-playing game Wayfinder took advantage of the State of Play to broadcast its first gameplay trailer as well as the upcoming arrival of its early access.
Finally, this segment ended with the Capcom announcements. Three characters will join the Street Fighter VI roster since Zangief, Lily and Cammy will be available for the game: see you on June 02 for the release of the title. The highlight of the State of Play show, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League showed up for a short quarter at the end of the event. The opportunity to remind players that the events of this game developed by Rocksteady take place five years after those of Arkham Knight: Harley Quinn and her colleagues must defeat a Justice League corrupted by Brainiac.
