You are currently viewing Steam and Co – Marvel’s former action hope is flying out of the stores forever and is now briefly reduced

You can still play Marvel’s Avengers, but you won’t be able to buy it soon.

It wasn’t that long ago that Marvel’s Avengers was considered one of the most anticipated titles of 2020. But since the former hope came onto the market, it has fallen deeply. In the meantime, the swan song of the once-aspired action hit can be heard. It will no longer be available for purchase from October 1, 2023.

Selling out shortly before the funeral

However, this situation offers everyone who has waited until today a unique opportunity: the title is available until September 30th, for example on Steam reduced by a whopping 90 percent, which means: you get the complete package for 4 euros.

Moment! Will my title be taken away? No, if you already have Marvel’s Avengers in your library, you keep it and can install and delete it as often as you want. The multiplayer components also remain functional. So the servers won’t be shut down (yet), but you won’t get any further content, patches or customer support. This is finally over.

As of October 1st, Marvel’s Avengers is essentially a zombie: somehow alive, but not really.

Is it still worth buying today?

At four euros you can hardly go wrong if you like Marvel or just action games.

Goodbye real money shop: And a lot has happened since the release. For example, the real money shop where you could buy skins and the like is history. It still exists, but you can only spend in-game currency. Ultimately, this is now far less annoying than its predecessor, which means that one of the biggest criticisms of this former live service game has been resolved.

What remains is the rather repetitive gameplay, but it is certainly recommended for a round of Marvel action in between.

The developers have already pointed out in the past that due to the end of support, they cannot guarantee that the gaming experience will be completely smooth – whatever that means. We probably won’t be able to estimate how valuable the title will be until October Undead feels.

And? Do you already have Marvel’s Avengers in your library? And have you ever played it or has it been there since the beginning of its existence? Or will you now go for it again in the final spurt? Do you believe the title has a real existence after sales and support stop? Or do you think the action game will finally slip into oblivion? Feel free to write us your thoughts in the comments!
