American singer Steven Tyler is the subject of a complaint from a woman who claims to have had a relationship with him in the 1970s, when she was 16.

A complaint of sexual assault and willful intent to inflict emotional distress has been filed in California against American rockstar Steven Tyler. The facts alleged by the complainant, Julia Holcomb, date back to the 1970s. According to the complaint relayed by RollingStone, the girl was 16 years old when the singer of Aerosmith started a relationship with her. This would have continued for three years.

The American media notes that the name of Steven Tyler does not appear in the complaint, but that passages from the memoirs of the singer, Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?, are cited there. In particular the one where he says he “almost married a teenager” whose parents had “signed a paper to give him custody, so that he would not be arrested if he made her travel to another state”. He also writes that he took her on tour with him, and specifies that he was “26 years old” and that she was “barely old enough to drive”. In addition, RollingStone had mentioned the name of Julia Holcomb in an article dedicated to the group in 1976.

“Alcohol and Drugs”

The complaint also reports that Julia Holcomb’s mother had entrusted her custody to the interpreter of Dream On, then at the height of his glory. The document recounts the meeting between the young girl and Steven Tyler in 1973 on the occasion of an Aerosmith concert in Oregon, after which he would have brought her back to his hotel. At the end of a conversation during which they would have mentioned the age of the young girl, he would have engaged in “various criminal sexual acts” on her.

After a few meetings, he is said to have convinced Julia Holcomb’s mother to give him custody of the latter, saying that he would ensure that she continued her education and received medical attention. Promises that “he did not keep. Instead, he continued to travel with the complainant, assaulting her and providing her with alcohol and drugs”, can we read in the complaint.

Several testimonials

She also claims to have become pregnant with the singer at the age of 17, and that he would have convinced her to have an abortion. After undergoing the operation, she would have left to return to Portland. She got married and left that experience behind, until Steven Tyler’s book came out in 2011.

Always according to RollingStoneJulia Holcomb has already publicly discussed this alleged relationship with Steven Tyler in the past, notably on a far-right anti-abortion site Lifesitenews, as well as in a documentary released in 2021 titled look away.
