Writing of her screenplay officially began on August 2, 2022, with filming set to begin in early 2023 and a likely 2024 release date. The script should center around Will Byers, with a context almost exclusively related to the town of Hawkins.

? When will Stranger Things 5 be released on Netflix?
The release date of this final season will largely depend on its start date of filming. In August 2022, the Duffer Brothers confirmed that they had begun writing her screenplay. David Harbor (Jim Hopper) had meanwhile hinted that filming should begin in early 2023, in an interview with British GQ.
According to the Duffer brothers, the wait between season 4 and season 5 of Stranger Things should however be shorter than for the other seasons. An exit in 2024 or even in 2025 at most should therefore be required. This is what the Mike Wheeler actor seemed to have confirmed in a recent interview: according to him, the last season should arrive in 2025.
Similarly, Season 5 episodes will not be released on a weekly basis, as some fans feared.

As all fans of the series know, each season begins with a small jump in time. The timeline shifted from November to December 1983 in Season 1 to October 1984 in Season 2 and then July 1985 in Season 3. Season 4 is set in March 1986, eight months after the Battle of Starcourt.

The production of the series has confirmed, through a photo, that season 5 of Stranger Things will consist of 8 episodes. This final season will therefore be in the average of the others, seasons 1 and 3 having 8 episodes and seasons 2 and 4 having 9 episodes.
? Will Stranger Things 5 be the last season?
Yes. Season 5 of Stranger Things will be the last season of the famous Netflix series. Producer Shawn Levy himself said last year that the end of the series was coming with season 5.
But it won’t be the end of the universe. In a statement on the future of the franchise and the release date of Season 4, the Duffer Brothers had said that new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes will arrive after Season 5. Despite his final death in season 4, fans are desperate to see Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) return in some way in season 5. Eddie could appear within flashbacks, using footage from Season 4. But with Vecna still on the loose, it’s also possible Dustin’s traumatic visions conjure up an undead version of Eddie, much like Billy in the Max’s view. But that’s just speculation at the moment, of course.
