The next installment of the Street Fighter franchise will be approached by a greater number of players soon.
The wait for the release of Street Fighter 6 will no longer be long. There is now less than a month to wait, since the title is scheduled for June 2, 2023. A few days before hack’n slash fans jump on Diablo 4, it is therefore fighting game fans who will be able to let off steam on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. In fact, they might even do it sooner than expected!
A beta open to all
It has already been seven years since Street Fighter 5 saw the light of day. Suffice to say that players are waiting for the sixth main opus of the franchise at the turn. The various trailers were reassuring, as were the first feedback from players. And for good reason, many are those who have already been able to approach it through closed betas. But it’s a bit to everyone’s surprise that Capcom has just announced the setting up of a new beta before the game’s release. “A little”, because it had been the subject of a leak by a streamer last month. And the good news is that it is open this time! As long as you are of the required age, whether you have a PC, a PS5 or an Xbox Series and that you link your platform to your Capcom account, you will therefore be able to test the long-awaited Street Fighter 6.
This open beta will take place from May 19 (from 8 a.m.) to May 22 (same time). On the program, eight playable characters and “tons of mods” not specified. Note the presence of crossplay, allowing you to play online against players from any platform. As specified on the official site, it is therefore the same content as that of the closed beta of December 2022, but with rebalancing.
A demo already playable for Street Fighter 6
At the end of April, on the occasion of a showcase dedicated to Street Fighter 6, Capcom had a nice surprise in store for fans: a playable demo before the game was released! Available for several weeks, it unfortunately did not have much going for it. Only playable by players who have pre-ordered the game on PS4 or PS5, it is also quite sparse in content, with only two playable characters. The open beta available from Friday 19 will therefore be a great opportunity to get a more global opinion on what awaits you in June.
