If we asked you what was the best action movie of 2022, what would you answer? Everything, Everywhere, All at Once ? Top Gun Maverick ? The Batman ? Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ? Bullet Train ? Violent Night ? The Woman King ? Believe us, none of these movies come close to the one we’re going to talk about today in terms of spectacle, stunts, and action scenes.
RRR (yes, that’s the name of the film, and it has nothing to do with Alain Chabat’s) was released this year in theaters on March 25. It is directed by SS Rajamouli and it comes straight from India. If you know a little about international cinema, you surely know that this is therefore a film categorized as “Bollywood”. The latter tend to be longer than those of the West, but also very well made and above all extremely spectacular to watch.
Unbridled action scenes, large dance scenes, slow motions that would make Zack Snyder pale, everything is done so that the viewer gets a kick out of it and comes out of the session marked by what he has just seen. And while it may happen that some films are more ridiculous than impressive, others manage to master the balance. This is the case of RRRwhich we advise you to see if you like this kind of films.

Seeing the trailer for the film above, you might want to laugh a dozen times. In the space of three minutes, you can see a man screaming in the face of a tiger, a soldier having a car accident, retrieving a gun from the air and using it as a follower, a motorcycle being sent flying. kicking and being caught by hand, and many other scenes as improbable as they defy all laws of physics.
Rest assured, none of this is meant to be taken seriously. We told you earlier, Bollywood films have a tradition of offering a great spectacle to the spectators, even if the latter makes no sense in terms of logic. On the other hand, the film and its scenario are not always as ridiculous as the trailer might lead you to believe. Indeed, the feature film has a particularly well thought out subtext, and other qualities not to be underestimated. All this earned him a very impressive 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics and the general public alike.
Despite the first impression you might have when watching the trailer, we therefore strongly advise you to take a look at it and form your own opinion. In addition to having a great time, you might discover a certain sensitivity for Bollywood films and seek to broaden your cinematic horizons.
