“Following the deplorable events that occurred in the Sudanese capital, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, in coordination with the Algerian Embassy in Khartoum, is monitoring the situation of the Algerian community in this sister country, and affirms that after communicating with it through the services of the embassy, ​​no injuries were recorded among the members of the Algerian community,” the statement said.

Algeria calls on Sudanese parties to cease fire and promote dialogue

In addition, Algeria, which currently holds the presidency of the Council of the Arab League at the summit level, called on all Sudanese parties to cease fighting and to promote dialogue in order to overcome the differences, however complex they may be, and to work to favor the supreme interest of the fatherland, indicated, Saturday, a press release from the presidency of the Republic.

“Algeria, in its capacity as current President of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Summit level, is following with great concern developments in the situation in the Republic of Sudan, a sister country, following the serious clashes with heavy weapons that occurred in the capital, Khartoum, between the army forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), and the resulting human and material losses,” the statement read.

Considering “the fraternal relations and historical ties that unite the two brotherly countries and peoples”, Algeria calls on all Sudanese parties to “stop fighting and make dialogue prevail in order to overcome disputes, however complex they may be”, says the same source.
