While on the cover of the UK (May 2023) issue of the magazine Vogue, Selma Blair has not hidden anything: she poses standing, with her cane, adorned with high heels and in a sublime slit dress in powder pink. With a conquering gaze, she signs a long interview in the inside pages of the magazine. An interview relayed in part by the magazine Elle and during which the star confides that he often thought of ending his life.
“I tried to kill myself”
At the end of 2018, Selma Blair revealed in a poignant message posted on Instagram to have multiple sclerosis. Since then, the actress Sex Intentions (1999), A Blonde’s Revenge (2001) et Teasers! (2002) shamelessly talks about her illness and even posed proudly with a cane on the Oscars red carpet. Today, the one who recently claimed to have been the victim of rape during her adolescence, delivers on her old dark thoughts. In the UK edition of Vogueshe claims to have tried to kill herself several times: “As an adult, the weariness and anxiety became terrifying, actually. I was making mistakes. I wished I was dead. I tried to kill myself. Many times. Out of desperation”. To calm her moments of anxiety and conceal her symptoms linked to her pathology, the actress specifies that she drank a lot: “Shooting was excruciating at times due to exhaustion and tics. I was on benzos and Klonopin. I didn’t abuse those, only alcohol. But I was lost and sad and I I had trouble smiling”.

The actress is not immune to criticism
The one who was more united than ever with her fellow actress Christina Applegate, also diagnosed with autoimmune disease of the central nervous system, is unfortunately not spared on social networks. In a video interview for Todaybroadcast on March 24, 2023, she explains that she is the victim of haters accusing him of being narcissistic and evoking his fight to inflate “his own ego”. In 2021, Selma Blair announced that her health had improved after undergoing a stem cell transplant.
