At FC Bayern there was no more room for Marcel Sabitzer. The Austrian was loaned to Manchester United at the end of the winter transfer period – with no option to buy. Accordingly, it can be expected that the 28-year-old will return to Säbener Straße in the summer.
However, according to ‘ESPN’, United are by no means planning Sabitzer solely as a stopgap for the second half of the current season. As a replacement for the injured Christian Eriksen, Sabitzer will primarily take on the role of the Danish playmaker. Nevertheless, those responsible for the Red Devils Sabitzer now have the prospect of moving permanently to Old Trafford from the summer.
According to the report, Erik ten Hag in particular is a big fan of the idea of permanently welcoming Sabitzer to the squad. Since the air at Bayern is expected to get even thinner from the summer when Konrad Laimer switches from RB Leipzig to the record champions, a transfer would probably also be in the interests of Munich. If Sabitzer continues to perform well, a permanent contract with the traditional club from Manchester is closer.
