Surfer Havanna Cabrero wins silver in San Salvador 2023

The surfer Havanna Cabrero added the second silver medal for the discipline early this Thursday morning, which takes place in Surf City San Salvador 2023.

Cabrero achieved a silver medal in the shortboard category with a score of 12.60. The first gold medal went to Chelsea Tuach of Barbados (14.03) and the bronze was held by the Mexican Shelby Detmers (10.30). There was a fourth competitor from Venezuela, Rosanny Álvarez, with 7.87 points.

The 24-year-old Puerto Rican began dominating her waves in the first phase with 12.70 points held on Monday. That same day in the second wave phase, the Puerto Rican continued at the top with 13.50 points. It was on Wednesday that the surfer dropped to second position with 9.74 points in the third round.

Cabrero joins Anaís Mendoza, who won silver in bodyboarding on Wednesday. Surfing is one of the sports that debuts at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.
