Suspect arrested for anti-Semitic vandalism against Miami business

MIAMI.- Police authorities announced the arrest of the alleged vandal who painted red graffiti with anti-Semitic signs on the facade of a bagel shop in Miami and on an Israeli flag.

“Today, Miami Police Detectives arrested Kenneth Guerrero, 28, for his involvement in a recent incident of anti-Semitic vandalism that occurred at Holy Bagels & Pizzeria on June 16, 2024,” Miami Police Department Chief Manuel Morales reported on X.

“This arrest is a reminder that we will not tolerate such despicable acts of hate and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure our community remains a safe and inclusive place for all,” he stressed.

The description of the man seen on security camera footage at Holy Bagels & Pizzeria matched the appearance of the suspect in custody.

The arrest report stated that the alleged vandal was wearing the same hoodie, with the same white Foundation Skateboards logo, that the person who committed the crime was wearing, causing more than $1,000 in property damage.

Guerrero is accused of spray-painting a red sign on the storefront that read “Free Palestine, Stop the Genocide” and tearing down an American flag alongside an Israeli flag with a sign that read “We are with Israel.”

The suspect faces charges of property damage and a hate crime.

There has been a rise in hate crimes across the US over the past year.
