Miami-Dade Police detectives have announced the arrest of Mónico Galbán for the alleged murder of a father in front of his one-year-old son in front of his home in Homestead.
According to the police report, the suspect was arrested at NW 154 Avenue and SW 284 Street.
Surveillance video released by police takes us to the fatal moment on May 29, 2023, when 27-year-old José Guajardo was struck by bullets while his mother and one-year-old son were playing outside on the front lawn.
The video shows the victim’s son playing and filling a wading pool while his father and grandmother stand nearby.
Rapid gunshots are then heard before the victim falls to the ground. The boy panics, drops the hose and runs towards his father, who is shot multiple times.
Apparently, the little boy bumps into his father during the chaos. They then pick up the boy and run him away from danger. Someone is heard screaming in the background.
According to police, Galbán approached on foot and shot the victim.
