Suspect arrested for shooting roommate in Jefferson County

DENVER, Colorado – Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies responded to an informant of a shooting inside an apartment located in the 7300 block of South Alkire Street.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m., Tuesday, August 8. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the wounded man still inside his apartment, facing the aftermath of the shooting.

Acting quickly, officers provided crucial first aid to stabilize his condition. The injured man was later taken under medical care to a nearby hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition at the moment, a JCSO official said.

The person allegedly responsible for this incident has been identified as 36-year-old Ryan Moore, who shares the same apartment with the victim. Law enforcement managed to arrest Moore, who is being held in custody on a number of serious charges, including:

  • One count of attempted first degree murder
  • Two Counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, Extreme Indifference
  • One charge of evidence tampering
  • Possession of a weapon by a previous offender
