The facade of the town hall and the gate of the house of the mayor of Montans (Tarn), were tagged by opponents of a project for asphalt plants. A hundred elected officials from the department demonstrated on Monday to express their fed up.

Tricolor scarves around the neck, the elected officials of the Tarn have formed a body in front of the town hall of Montans. All came to support Gilles Crouzet, mayor of the city. “It is completely unbearable in a democracy that we attack elected officials in this way. We have decided to react collectively”, explains Philippe Folliot, centrist Alliance senator from Tarn. This weekend, the mayor’s home, as well as the facade of the town hall, were tagged by opponents of the project for a bitumen factory which is to be established in the town.
